I've had a varied career, all of which I've enjoyed and it's contributed to a mixed bag of skills. Formal qualifications are a degree in Geology, a PGCE in science teaching and an M.A. in Education with was research focused.

Initially I worked in Development Education and Environmental Education and was able to combine my enthusiasm for science, learning, people, global issues and the environment. I worked with all ages, across all education sectors. Developing, writing and piloting teaching materials, delivering teacher training and running workshops.  There was also a brief interlude as a presenter on a Welsh nature programme!

A career change as the Development Officer for Community Dance Wales provided me with new experiences and I developed new interests and skills. I wrote successful funding bids, one for research into training needs, I supported organisations in PP and marketing and maintain an interest in social marketing and marketing in the community sector.  I also worked for an Arts Marketing Consultancy on feasibility studies for community arts projects.

I have carried out research in diverse areas and as research manger in the School of Health Science at Swansea University I increased my interest and knowledge of research and evaluation methods. For the past six years I was managing projects in Adult and Community Learning, In Carmarthenshire and at Swansea University . Partnership Working here was a key element. I am a qualified Prince 2 practitioner.

I am interested in new ways of working and bring different elements into my work drawn from a varied toolkit.

I have embarked on a PhD looking at Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship in the Adult and Community Learning Sector.

I am a fluent Welsh speaker and want to develop working with welsh language projects and groups.
